Danish Business states that Denmark needs a paradigm shift in relation to foreign labor in order to secure the workforce of the future. Denmark, the EU and the rest of the Western world are facing a major decline in the workforce, with fewer people having to support more.
Dansk Erhverv believes that more international workers must be part of the solution, which requires cooperation with other countries and a more welcoming approach to foreign workers.
UN forecasts show that in ten years there will be 17 million fewer workers in Europe, and in 2050 there will be 45 million fewer. Dansk Erhverv expects that Denmark may lack around 130,000 workers in 10 years and therefore proposes partnership agreements that can attract up to 50,000 international colleagues to remedy this challenge.
