Danish business is experiencing large losses due to a lack of labour. According to new calculations, the companies have lost at least DKK 31 billion in turnover over the past three months, as many positions cannot be filled.
This has forced companies to turn away customers and turn down orders, hampering both growth and earnings.
The problem is not new, and it is expected to worsen towards 2030, when Denmark will lack around 90,000 workers. According to Danish Business director, Brian Mikkelsen, this development threatens both the private sector and the public sector, and political action is needed now
